HLC’s Response Letter sent to District
HLC has sent the response to the District:
The response states that the Governing Board’s actions have prompted HLC’s addition of an “area of focus” (focused on the Governing Board’s actions outlined in the FA’s complaint) that will be included in Gateway’s upcoming HLC Accreditation visit. According to the HLC website, “Commission staff may expand the focus of the evaluation where appropriate to review additional topics of concern to the Commission.” For context, this would be the equivalent of an accreditation criterion not being fully met during a regular HLC visit.
